I've reached a point in my life when I entirely don't enjoy going out as much as I used to. When I was in my early twenties and younger, I was consistently gleeful at the opportunity to go out on the town. I got super stoked about getting dressed up, putting together an outfit, and finding a costly current locale to dine at. I guess it was an extremely novel experience back then, and I enjoyed being seen out on the town. As an adult, I don't care honestly much about any of this. I am far more worried with saving cash and spending quality time with people that I care about. On the rare opportunity that I do go out to a diner, I am often disappointed. The repair will be awful or, multiple times, the air quality is really horrendous. I cannot tell you how multiple times I have had to get up and leave a diner because it was too frigid for me to continue eating there. If possible, I'll go to the automobile and grab a sweater for extra warmth. If I don't have an extra layer sitting around, but, I genuinely cannot sit to sit in deranged air conditioning and try to enjoy a meal. I will end up shivering throughout the entire supper and trying to hide from the air vents around the diner. At that point, it's not even worth sticking around and trying to finish out my extravagant meal. I would rather face the public humiliation of complaining about air quality and leaving the diner. Truly, if an restaurant is not going to invest in high quality indoor air temperature equipment, I'm not going to invest in their food.

I was standing around in the lobby of a movie theatre not too long ago, when I heard someone complaining about their family. She was saying how she could never get a word in when they were talking and that they weren’t very sophisticated. I wished that were the only things that were wrong with my family. My family are very easy to get along with, but they don’t know how to keep from touching things. I had on a silk dress two weeks ago, and before I left the house everyone who was there, had to feel the material. I swore that I walked out of the house looking like I was the local fingerprint pad. When I went back home, I was glad that I lived over a hundred miles away from them. I didn’t have to have their fingers on me all of the time. It isn’t just clothing they all feel, but the last time my sister and her family came to my house was right after I had a new HVAC installed. When my sister saw the Smart Thermostat, she wanted to know how to change the temperature. I told her that she couldn’t and hoped that would be enough. An hour later, she was in the kitchen trying to poke and twist at the thermostat. She said it was too cold in her room and she wanted the air conditioning turned down. I then caught my niece playing with the thermostat and then her husband. I swore that if either of her boys had touched that thermostat, I was going to break their grubby little fingers.

After years of struggling to exercise routinely, I finally gave up. I was finding that I was having a hard time working up to the intensities of exercise I needed to get into shape. The gym was always over air conditioned, or under heated. I liked doing yoga and I liked going on slow and hikes. I didn’t want to do anything more strenuous than that because of the way my hard would feel like it was pounding out of my chest. I sometimes felt like I was going to vomit or pass out when I got into a gym that didn’t have good air conditioning. I was working out one day when the heating was out, which they said was deliberate. I had so many body cramps from the cold that my muscles were seized and I had to go to the doctors. I don't know if anyone can say they like those feelings or how it can truly be making you feel fit and strong. After years of putting up with physical pain and debilitating after effects, I decided exercising was not worth it. My husband came home one day, with a new window air conditioner. He knew how much I missed exercising. He had taken the ‘walk-in’ closet and turned it into a small home gym. He had equipment in there and he had the window air conditioner in place. He also bought me a fan so that I had good ventilation. Now, I can work out and I have perfect heating and air conditioning all year round. I am loving getting back in shape and feeling good about it.
