For six weeks, I was stuck in bed while I was recuperating from my accident.

It was really hard to stay in bed, but being in bed at home was better than being in the hospital.

I wasn’t able to do much without the assistance of a nurse or my husband. I know that it had to be tough on them because I was really being snarky to them. I didn’t mean to be, but I really wanted to just be able to do something for myself. I hated when I had a cold and this was 100X worse. The worst part of it all was that I was stuck with whatever temperature the nurse or my husband set on the thermostat. I was going absolutely bonkers when there wasn’t anyone around. I took to timing the HVAC system. I knew about how long it took before I would hear the click on the thermostat that told me the air conditioning was going to be turning on. I also knew how long I would listen to the air conditioning running before the thermostat would click to signal that it was turning off. Not feeling the cool air coming through the air vents was a sad event for me, but I always rejoiced when I could hear the click on the thermostat. With the help of the thermostat, I knew that I would be able to get through just six more weeks in bed, as long as I have the air conditioning to keep me from going crazy. Without the air conditioning, I will drive everyone crazy with me.
