I’m without power again.
I’m without power again.
I don’t mind it so much when the air conditioning goes out, but I hate it when the furnace isn’t working
When my husband and I moved into our home, little did we know that our worst problem was going to be in keeping our electricity on. When we moved here, the realtor had jokingly told us that the previous owner was always having the power go out. I wasn’t sure what to say but I told her we always paid our bills. We have now lived here for four years and I know that losing your power is a common thing. We live on the top of a mountain and even a stiff wind can cause the power to go out. I wish it were different, but there isn’t anything we can do about it. Having the power go out is usually nothing more than a pain in the butt. However, when it is summer and the air conditioning quits working because of no power, it is much worse than a pain. During the winter when the power goes out, we not only lose our furnace, but we can also end up with some major problems with our water pipes. We had to add special insurance because of frozen water pipes. Normally the power will just glitch, but there are times when it goes out for hours or even days. I don’t mind it so much when the air conditioning goes out, but I hate it when the furnace isn’t working. If the furnace quits working and we know the power will be out for longer than a couple of hours, we usually call our daughter. Her thermostat may not be set for as much heating as I have at our house, but it is better than no heat.
