Sometimes I wish that my family could just learn to respect boundaries.

I know that this is something nobody was educated on when we were growing up in my household.

In fact, there was no such thing as respecting a word that the other humans said. We were all constantly locked in battle, trying to impress our will on others. Today, I’m glad to report that adulthood has provided some distance from my tumultuous family. However, every time I see them they make sure to remind me of the boundless upbringing I endured. Namely, by refusing to accept my indoor air temperature control settings and insisting on ruining my thermostat control unit when I am not looking. You see, my family is convinced that they know everything. This includes the best indoor air temperature and air quality control settings. Even though we live in wildly diverse climates, they think that my indoor air temperature is not appropriate to contend with the air temperatures and air quality outside. I am constantly trying to convince them that my central heating, cooling, and air quality control system is programmed for my own energy Efficiency needs and optimal air temperature range. However, whenever they visit they do everything in their power to reset my thermostat control program. I have probably asked them to leave my indoor air handling devices alone about 50 times. Still, whenever they leave I will have a massive thermostat programming project to tackle. Not to mention, all of the high energy bills I’ll get to pay from their continual thermostat assaults.
