Usually when we have meetings with school teachers, they are later in the afternoon.

For some reason, all the afternoon slots were taken to meet with our children’s teachers recently and my wife scheduled the meetings for the morning hours.

I had to set my alarm because I had to get up much earlier than I normally do. Before we left the house, I made sure to shut off the HVAC system so we weren’t wasting money. My wife asked if it was really necessary since we would only be gone for a few hours. I told her that we should always try to lower the energy bills and shutting off the HVAC wasn’t a bad way to save money. We did use the AC system on the car ride to the school though. Also, the air conditioning in the school building wasn’t terrible. The teachers basically had nothing but good things to say about our children. They only had a small problem with our son because there were a few assignments that he never handed in. We recognized the assignments because we helped him with his homework. We had to have him called over to tell us why he didn’t turn in all his assignments. He shrugged his shoulders and said he forgot. That is one issue with our son, he forgets important things like that often, but he’s a great kid and he is very smart. I was relieved when the meetings were finally done and I connected to the smart thermostat to turn the AC system back on so it would be cool in our home by the time we arrived home.
