My parents are both in their 80s and not as mobile as they used to be.

My mother loves to go for long drives and look at the different properties.

Since her stroke she isn’t safe behind the wheel. My father likes to go to Burger King everyday to get a small cheeseburger, fry and coke. That is what they love the most. It became difficult driving over to their house everyday. My mother also struggled with cleaning, cooking and my father couldn’t mow the lawn anymore. I didn’t want to put them in a nursing home or rely on a home nurse. So what we did was set up a tiny home solution right on my property. I have a huge plot of land. It was easy to set up a modular home for them. Technically it is a bunch of shipping containers hooked together to create an affordable tiny home. My parents each have a bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and living room. It is the right size for them. They don’t need to worry about care though. My wife can walk over once a week to clean easily. I mow our yard and by extension theirs too. I can do the drive by and Burger King run everyday since they are right on my land. They like that they are independent, private but they do have constant support. My wife makes dinner every night for the four of us. It is the best solution for them at their age. When they are gone I can use the space as a storage facility too.
