I have been a kindergarten professor for numerous years now. I have seen young children with amazing skills I knew would only improve as they aged. I always encouraged them to do what came naturally, unless it was destructive. About more than nine years after I started teaching, I had an interesting young woman come into my class. The first time I knew she was different, I had to call her mother into the classroom. She was resting on the floor looking at the ceiling. She had observed there was a pattern of flickers in the lights. I hadn’t even observed I had called her mother, who could talk to him. She pointed out what she was looking at as she explained there had to be an interruption in the way the lights were functioning. Two weeks later, she had her ear to the wall. She said the heating method sounded enjoy it was running funny and I couldn’t hear anything. She listened at the wall and told myself and others that there was a definite problem with the gas furnace. Several times over the next couple mornings, she told myself and others about the problem with the gas furnace. She even proposed I call her dad, who was an Heating and A/C worker, and have him look at the gas furnace. When I finally got to meet her dad, I told him I thought she had a budding electrician or Heating and A/C worker in my class. She laughed and said my student had been laboring with him since she was seasoned enough to walk. She was always curious. Her dad was the university’s Heating and A/C worker, and she was there to repair the gas furnace.
