When I moved to a new neighborhood, I discovered that the HVAC company I’d been using wouldn’t come to my house anymore.

I had moved a mile outside of their city limits, and they weren’t willing to make an exception and come to my house no matter how much I offered to pay them to service my HVAC system.

I didn’t know who to hire for my new HVAC provider and I didn’t have time to research. I was too busy unpacking and getting my new house set up and I didn’t want to waste any time searching for a good HVAC provider. I just needed someone to service my HVAC system before the warmer weather arrived, and I could find someone new later on when things settled down. I asked my neighbor who he used to service his HVAC system, and he said that he did it himself. He said that he wasn’t a licensed professional, but he knew a thing or two about HVAC systems and he never had any issues with his HVAC system in the past. I knew it was a huge risk, but I asked him if he’d be willing to service my HVAC system as best as he could. I told him I just wanted to make sure it was in good condition and it was cleaned up. He agreed to help, so I paid him a small amount and he serviced my HVAC system for me. He said it was a little dirty, but it looked good. I trusted my unlicensed neighbor, but so far, he’s been right.
