The whole trip could have gone more smoothly

When my brother and I were 12, my parents decided to take us to the amusement park for the summer.

We drove 1000 miles to get to the destination.

We stayed for a week and we visited several different places while we were there. My brother and I had our own hotel room, but it had a door that led to the room where my mom and I were sleeping. My brother and I still felt like we were important kings, since we had our own door and lock. We also got to change the temperature on our air conditioner, so we could have it as cold as we wanted. We had a great time the first few days, and then my mom got sick. She was throwing up for two days and we couldn’t leave the hotel room. My dad didn’t want to take us out on his own, because he was worried about losing us in a large crowd. My mom started to feel better, so we went to a dinner theater. The food didn’t agree with my mom and she threw up all over the table. On the drive home, my mom and dad spent most of the time fighting. Things got even worse when the air conditioner stopped working. My dad wanted to drive with the windows down, but my mom didn’t want the wind blowing everything around in the car. The air conditioner breaking down was just the icing on the cake after a week full of problems. That was the last time I remember taking a family road trip.
