Working a job with no cooling system is a challenge

As soon as I turned sixteen, I started looking for a job, then i was hoping to save up to buy a car.

I filled out applications all over town.

I never considered that laboring at the hardware store, grocery store or local diner meant being inside an air conditioned environment. I took the first job that I was gave. I got hired at the ice cream parlor. I l received how to make milkshakes, sundaes, cones, slushies, warm dogs, hamburgers and french fries, then the building gave just enough space for all of the machines, grills, friers, restroom and dishwasher. There was no indoor seating, so there was no need for air conditioner; Customers placed and acquired their orders through an open window. If there was an air conditioner, the cool air would have escaped, then our only relief came from a couple of electric fans… Fans weren’t satisfactory to battle the heat from the summer time weather and the machines. The temperature inside of that little building correctly climbed into the triple digits, then although all of us left the back door and windows open, all of us didn’t get much of a breeze inside; My uniform included long pants, and by the end of every shift, I was always wet with sweat, sleepy and boiling. I was always sad to crank the air conditioner in my automobile for the drive home. Although I liked my job at the ice cream parlor, I only worked there for 1 summer. I never again wanted to be stuck somewhere that didn’t provide temperature control. After that, I only put in applications where the weather wasn’t a factor.
