Cat fur is in my HVAC now
I went from not really liking animals to full on owning a cat.
The stray cat just sort of claimed me as his new owner.
He went from napping on my car, to my outdoor lanai and now he is in my house. The cat fur is really what I don’t like about the situation. I have tried to keep him contained in one room of the house. He can have the guest bed and rip the comforter to shreds. He also can shed all over the rug and blankets. I will just keep the company away from it. The problem is that I am noticing the cat fur still gets in other areas of the house and in certain things. My HVAC system in particular has been having a rough go with the cat fur. My air filter used to last a full month. I would change it and the dust and hair would be minimal. My hair is short and was hardly in the HVAC filter. Now with a cat full time in the house, the air filter hardly lasts 3 weeks. It is mainly full of cat fur. The HVAC system also has shown pieces of hair inside of it. Not only is that icky, but it is not good for the HVAC. The HVAC operating with hair in it means it is sluggish and has to work harder. That means my energy bills will be steadily rising. I have tried brushing the cat to stop the shedding and cleaning the house more often. Still, the cat hair manages to get into my HVAC, the air filter and even in the ductwork.
