I got a text from a friend of mine last week, that had me wondering about the intelligence of those I worked for. Our company had been closed for over two months at that time. I couldn’t believe they were going to reopen a building that had been shut for two months, without sterilizing the entire contents. I was told no one had been in the building since the day it was closed. Knowing how I am, she had me ready to go into action. I called the office manager and asked if what I had heard was right. I couldn’t believe what I had heard? He told me the building was reopening on Monday and everyone was expected back to work. I asked if they had a mask mandate in place? I asked if the HVAC company had cleaned and sanitized the air vents and ductwork. I also asked if they had put in an air purification system and if there was social distancing implemented. He was flabbergasted and kept telling me to slow down so he could answer all of my questions. He said they were working on the HVAC as we spoke, but they were leaving masks as an option. There was no room for social distancing. I asked him if he was going to allow workers to make the choice to stay home and continue to work. I knew I had a clean HVAC system and that we had an air purification system at home. I wasn’t sure what he was going to say, but I wasn’t expecting him to laugh at me.
