We were looking for a portable dehumidifier.

I never thought I would be camping in something as elaborate as an RV.

I guess elaborate is the wrong word.

I had only gone camping in a tent, with a campfire to keep us warm. After my kids got older, they were embarrassed for their friends to find out they had been camping in a tent with their parents. They thought a tent was too outdated. There wasn’t a place for them to charge their phones or game machines. If we wanted to continue to have family vacations, we had to do it another way. To be honest an RV actually sounded like a good idea. We wouldn’t be sleeping on the ground and we had heating and air conditioning. That may have been the biggest draw to the RV. We had an HVAC system, but we also had a bathroom and running water. We finally got to our favorite camping area and settled into a spot designated for RV’s. I loved the area, but it was also out in full sun. The RV was slowly getting warmer, even though the air conditioning was running on high. I said to my husband about it being more humid inside than it was outside. He took our son and headed into town. He came back with a portable dehumidifier. He told me he had forgotten the RV dealer had told him there wasn’t a good dehumidifier in the AC unit, and we may need a portable dehumidifier to help. Other than needing to empty the dehumidifier every day, we ended up having a lovely time, even if we did spend most of the day inside with the air conditioning. We were playing board games as a family,
