I knew I should have listened and gotten that generator.

I knew I should have listened and gotten that generator.

There is nothing worse than waking up on a frigid morning and freezing even though you have two blankets on you.

  • That is what happened to me last week.

I had set the thermostat to seventy because of how cold it was supposed to be. I heard the weatherman saying that it was supposed to go below zero. I wanted to be prepared for the cold. The furnace had been cleaned and serviced only a month ago, and the HVAC tech told me that the furnace was in good condition. I got out of bed and checked the thermostat, which was dark. I thought I had the HVAC technician put new batteries into the thermostat. Then I realized the lights weren’t on. That’s when I knew I didn’t have any power. I was ready to kick myself when I realized that we didn’t have power, which meant no heating system either. I had talked to my HVAC technician just two months ago, about a generator. He told me that if I didn’t get a generator; I was going to end up losing my power at a bad time. The house was in a secure part of the country and everyone here lost their power at times. He said the previous owner had a generator because he often lost his power for days. I could only hope my power would come back sooner than later. I was going to call the HVAC company and have that generator installed so I never had to spend another frigid morning in my home. I didn’t realize how cold it could get when you didn’t have the furnace running.
