I actually thought I had the most romantic idea for proposing to my girlfriend.

We went to this really fancy restaurant and I already arranged to have the ring placed into whatever dessert that she decided to order.

While we were at the restaurant she kept complaining about the temperature control settings. The waiter said he would have the temperature control settings adjusted. She wanted more air conditioning and they made that happen. Then she said it was too chilly and she wanted them to adjust the temperature control settings again. I could tell that the waiter was very frustrated with her. Even though my girlfriend was having mood swings, I still wanted to make this proposal happen, but I was a little bit nervous that she would give me a “no” answer with how things were going. Then there was a guy who did the same thing that I was planning! He had the ring hidden in his girlfriend’s dessert. She freaked out and started saying “Oh my god, Oh my god!!” The guy got down on his knee and then he proposed and people were cheering and clapping in the restaurant. My girlfriend gave a heavy sigh and said that was the most corny way to propose to a girl. I was actually starting to sweat when she said that, and even I wanted some more A/C at that point. My girlfriend said she didn’t want dessert and I rushed to the kitchen to get the ring. I started telling her how much I cared for her and then I got down on my knee and proposed! She was completely caught off guard but she gave me a definite “Yes!” She said she was glad I didn’t do something corny like the other guy did.
