I Miss My Own HVAC

I Miss My Own HVAC

The static value of homeownership has taken a very deep hit over the last decade and more.

The risks and responsibilities of owning a home is tough to rationalize given the limited return on investment.

That catastrophic HVAC failure and subsequent replacement is out there waiting to happen. My wife and I have been very fortunate in that sense. We aren’t eager to mess with that lucky streak. The couple of homes that we have owned were sold at a decent profit. Our last dwelling was just barely able to break even given the way things are. Additionally, my wife and I are getting up there so, we really don’t trust getting into another house right now. It’s not out of the question but, we are in no hurry either. There is plenty of life downsizing to do before we even consider getting another home. It’s amazing what you can accumulate over the course of a lifetime. I think we both could also take a break from all the chores. Let someone else cut the grass and schedule the HVAC maintenance appointments. Speaking of HVAC, this system is the all time worst I have experienced since my grandpa’s swamp cooler. It’s just ridiculous. The thing is so old that the SEER rating isn’t even posted on it. I have complained several times to the rental company about how weak and inefficient the HVAC system is. They have responded with a resounding yawn. While I am retired now, I may have to put my lawyer pants back on to get something done about this.
