Good thing garage has HVAC – flooding
When my husband said that he wanted to install a heating, cooling, and air quality control system in our garage I thought that he was being foolish.
Either he wanted to create the ultimate man cave so he could escape from his responsibilities in this separate, private space…
Or else he was looking to spend our hard-earned cash on air quality control equipment for no reason. I honestly couldn’t see the merit of pumping ice cold air conditioned air into the rarely utilized space. It also made no sense to worry about heating the garage when it essentially served as a car storage space. My husband proceeded to have a mini split ductless heating and cooling system installed anyways. Honestly, I was upset about the HVAC purchase at first. However, these days I am having to eat my words about the utility of a heating, cooling, and air quality control system in the garage. You see, a few weeks ago we had a massive storm blow through which managed to flood the garage. There is sitting water spread throughout the entire concrete foundation. We have to clear out all of the water somehow, and meanwhile it is bitterly cold outside. We don’t want the water to freeze… So my husband proudly explained that we would use the heating component of the mini split ductless heating and cooling system to stop the ice formation. It also helps a great deal when we are vacuuming and sweeping water from the chili environment. I really don’t want to tell my husband… But he was completely right about the heating and cooling system.
