A Rusted Drain Leads to Water
A Rusted Drain Leads to Water
Last weekend, when my hubby was mowing the grass, he noticed that the condenser device was leaking water.
When he first told me about his sighting, I thought it was impossible; Our A/C system didn’t use water.
Instead, it used refrigerant to cool the air. There was no way that water could be coming from the condenser device unless it had rained; My hubby was adamant about the leak though, and he confirmed it by showing it to me, however he also explained how even though the A/C system used refrigerant, water was still created due to the dehumidifier built into our system. However, that water shouldn’t have been leaking. Since a leaking condenser device was beyond our scope of Heating and Air Conditioning knowledge, my associate and I decided to hire an Heating and Air Conditioning company to come repair it. My friend and I have a nice buddy who’s been an Heating and Air Conditioning company for over twenty years, so my associate and I knew we’d be in nice hands. The Heating and Air Conditioning company came to check out the leak immediately and he provided us a straight-forward explanation for it. The condenser device has a small drain that helps transfer the water to its designated spot, however that drain was rusted on our system. The rust was so severe, there were holes starting to form, which was creating the leaks! A rusted pipedrain sounded like a pressing deal, however our Heating and Air Conditioning company assured us that it was a straight-forward and incostly fix. Thankfully, he was right. The drain was fixed before the end of the day.
