Everytime that I would come dwelling from school I regularly wanted to just curl up on my bed and take a nap.

However I knew that I couldn’t do that.

My parents regularly wanted me to complete my homework as soon as I got dwelling from school. I was allowed to put my things down and grab a snack. But afterwards I had to get my things together for my homework and sit at the dining room table with the TV off. When I was younger I hated coming dwelling for this reason. As I got older I realized just how pressing it is to get my homework done in a timely manner and focus on my grades. When I graduated elementary, middle and high school I regularly finished with good grades, receiving high honors; Receiving wonderful grades can come naturally for some but for me it took a lot of work. When I would be standing at the table doing my homework I had to really concentrate. There would be times where I just couldn’t concentrate. There was this one time during the winter where I came dwelling and the home was cold. I went to the thermostat and turned it up a few degrees so the heating system would kick on. I knew I would be nice and warm when my feet would be warm. My parents had a radiant floor heating. Once I knew my feet would be warm standing at that table I went to the thermostat to set the temperature to where it was. If my parents found out that I changed the thermostat they would surely scold me.
