It’s been cooling off a lot around here the past few afternoons. Whenever the Winter hot and cold temperatures start setting in, you just never know what people are going to do when it comes to their Heating and Air Conditioning systems. Sometimes people turn their gas furnaces up and they just let them run for the duration of the winter. I recognize that’s okay if you have 1 of those energy efficient heating systems, since that way you won’t have to pay super high heating bills every month… But occasionally people don’t understand the way to set their thermostats so that most people will be comfortable. For example, last night the people I was with and I had to go to a athletic activitys banquet for our son’s fall pigskin league… At the banquet, there were close to more than one hundred people. The management team at the banquet facility obviously didn’t take into account the body heat of most people that were at the athletic activitys banquet. When you have over more than one hundred people crammed into 1 large room, the temperature is truly going to go up because of all of the body heat! Of course, the management team had the thermostat of the banquet facility set at a truly high temperature. The weather outside was truly cold, so having the thermostat set at a high temperature would make sense if you weren’t going to have so numerous people in the room. I don’t guess the management team thought about how hot it was going to be in the room with all of those people. By the time the people I was with and I left the banquet, I was done with heating for the night! I didn’t even turn the furnace on in the car on the way home.
