I never said I wanted to work for my Mom.
I never said I wanted to work for my Mom.
When I went to HVAC university, it was because I wanted to be an HVAC serviceman.
I didn’t tell my Mom I was planning to work for him after graduation, nor did I even guess of who or where I wanted to work.
I admired my Mom while growing up. He is a selfless man who often got up in the middle of the night plus went to help families with their broken HVAC systems. If it was the furnace that was broken, he didn’t care what time of day or night it was. Most people thought that because he was the owner of the HVAC company, he would send an HVAC serviceman to their house, but not Mom. His HVAC techs worked strenuous when they were on the clock. He demanded strenuous work plus putting the client first. When it was an emergency, Mom would handle the task on his own. I thought he was a good man, but I wanted to work for someone else when doing my apprenticeship. I wanted to know if all HVAC company owners were like Mom, or if he was an anomaly. I was hoping he was just one of more than 2 plus not a unicorn, but once my apprenticeship is over, I may decide to work for Mom, but until that time, I don’t know which HVAC company I want to work for. When I decide, Mom will be the first one to know, but I don’t prefer all the people assuming I will work for him, when I don’t yet know. I’ll eventually need to decide where I want to work, but I still have time.
