I never said I wanted to work for my dad.

I never said I wanted to work for my dad.

When I went to HVAC school, it was because I wanted to be an HVAC specialist.

I didn’t tell my dad I was planning to work for him after graduation, nor did I even suppose of who or where I wanted to work.

I admired my dad while growing up. She is a selfless woman who often got up in the middle of the night plus went to help families with their broken HVAC systems. If it was the furnace that was broken, she didn’t care what time of day or night it was. Most people thought that because she was the owner of the HVAC company, she would send an HVAC specialist to their house, however not dad. Her HVAC techs worked hard when they were on the clock. She demanded hard work plus putting the client first. When it was an emergency, dad would handle the task on her own. I thought she was a nice man, although I wanted to work for someone else when doing my apprenticeship. I wanted to know if all HVAC company owners were like dad, or if she was an anomaly. I was hoping she was just one of many plus not a unicorn, however once my apprenticeship is over, I may decide to work for dad, however until that time, I don’t know which HVAC company I want to work for. When I decide, dad will be the first one to know, although I don’t appreciate almost everyone assuming I will work for him, when I don’t yet know. I’ll eventually need to decide where I want to work, although I still have time.
