My parents have more gadgets inside their homes than I do. They have a Ring doorbell, an Alexa, a robot vacuum, a touch screen toaster, a smart coffee maker, as well as a smart air purifier. Most of these gadgets were gifts that they received over the years from me and my siblings. We all agreed to buy them as many gadgets as long as they made their lives much easier. For instance, the robot vacuum can get to places like underneath the bed that my parents would have a hard time getting to. The Ring doorbell allows them to know when packages are being delivered to their home. Alexa can give them instant information like the weather forecast outside. The only gadget that they are yet to get is a Smart nesting thermostat, and my siblings and I have already decided that the Smart thermostat will be their next gift. My parents live alone in a 4-bedroom home and the thermostat would not only help to make their home more comfortable, but it will also save them a little over $100 per year on their energy bill. The thermostat is great because it can work with Alexa, and they can have access to their HVAC unit from anywhere in the world. Once the Smart thermostat learns my parents’ movement inside their home, it will adjust itself accordingly. This is the only Smart gadget that I have in my house, and I absolutely love it because it has regulated the temperature in my home without sacrificing my comfort. Plus, it’s an easy device to use and it has made my life much easier.
