Avoid scheduling HVAC service during the busy month
I scheduled my maintenance for my HVAC unit.
Typically, I schedule service in March or in late April right before the weather becomes too hot.
During that time of the year, HVAC technicians are less busy. In fact, that is usually their slow season when they are not receiving too many service calls. It is best to schedule maintenance during the slow season because it’s guaranteed there will be little to no delay in receiving service. Additionally, I find that my HVAC technician does a better job when he’s not having to rush to his next appointment. I made the mistake once and waited until the last minute to schedule my service appointment. It was during the middle of the Summer, and it took my HVAC provider 3 whole days before they were able to get a technician to my home. While I was waiting, I contacted several other HVAC providers in the area, and they too had the same issue. One provider had a waiting list that was 7 days away. Thankfully, there was nothing wrong with my HVAC unit and I was not trying to find emergency service. I assume the backlog is the same for the Winter months, especially if they are dealing with a lot of broken-down equipment. Anyway, because I know that busy months for HVAC technicians are always May, June, October, and November, I try to schedule all my service appointments outside of those months. I have to cause more scheduling complications for the HVAC providers whose technicians work hard every day to make our lives more comfortable.
