I tried to tell him he was playing with the thermostat too much, but he thought I was being silly. He didn’t believe you could break the HVAC system by adjusting the thermostat. He would turn the thermostat up to eighty to get it warmer more quickly. I told him he was putting a lot of stress on the HVAC system. When it got up to eighty, he would turn the thermostat down to sixty-five. The last time he came home, I had a lockbox over the thermostat.
