I knew exactly how much money I had to pay for a new furnace. I called the HVAC company and asked them how much a furnace was going to cost. I got a quote for a new furnace like the one I had and the installation fee, and then I started saving. I didn’t know there was going to be extra charges added since I had waited almost a year to buy the furnace. I didn’t realize the price would almost double for my furnace. When the HVAC technician arrived and wanted to put in the order for the furnace, I was shocked to see how much it was. I told him I had just enough money to pay for the furnace, which meant for the quote he had given me back then. He said he told me the price may change if I waited too long, and apparently I had waited too long. Now, I had to figure out where I was going to get all the extra money for the furnace I had ordered a year ago. I was so worried about what the HVAC technician told me, that I wasn’t really listening to what he was saying now. He was telling me I could use what I saved, as a downpayment on the furnace. I could get an interest-free payment plan through the HVAC company for the remainder of the amount. He was getting ready to leave, when it finally got through my thick skull what the HVAC technician had said. I called him back and all I could say was yes, and offered to write him a check for the down payment, while he was there.
