I have done a lot of inner searching over the last couple of years.

I wanted to find out what it was about me that would throw away a relationship whenever it felt like it was getting serious. After a lot of soul searching, I realized that it wasn’t me that was wrong, but I wasn’t happy with the people I was with. I had to find someone who really wanted me for me and whom I truly liked. I realized that you don’t have to be totally compatible, but you do need to have common core values. My last girlfriend showed me that there is a lot of compromise and giving in a relationship. She told that she expected to give 80% and take 20%. I told her that it should be 50/50 and she laughed. She said that it was no wonder I couldn’t make it in a relationship. I went to her home one afternoon and I told her I thought it was a bit warm. She turned down the thermostat so I was more comfortable. She said that was part of the 80%. I was to later realize that the HVAC system was going to be one of the biggest give and take situations we would ever had. I know that quality heating and air conditioning is important for everyone. I also know that you need good ventilation. She totally agreed with me on this, but she liked it warmer than I did. Once we found a common middle for the thermostat, we found out that it was easy for us to get along.
