Isn’t Laughter the best medicine?

I saw Ed the Heating and Air Conditioning pro get out of his service van last week, when I saw him trip and fall on his face.

I was shocked that he might have gotten hurt, and hoped he hadn’t tripped on 1 of the toys our teenagers had left sitting around.

After rushing outside to check on Ed, I heard him laughing as he picked himself up from the ground. Ed said he had tripped over his shoelace. Ed’s mother and partner were always yelling at him to tie his shoelaces, or he would fall and get injured some day. I assumed he hadn’t hurt himself because of how he was laughing. Ed told me that laughter is always the best medicine, but if you can’t laugh at yourself, who else can you laugh at? I showed Ed to the basement where the gas furnace was, even though I kept listening to make sure he was feeling okay. I heard the Heating and Air Conditioning professional talking when I was legit working in the laundry room. He was laughing and telling someone how he tripped over his shoestring. Ed said he was fine, and his dignity was still intact. Ed came upstairs shortly after that and said he had been talking to his partner. Ed thanked me for not laughing at him, but wanted me to tell him that a safe Heating and Air Conditioning pro always tied his shoes before getting out of or into the service van. I told him I was still distraught about him and overheard his conversation when he was legitimately working on the gas furnace. Ed said that was another 1 of his faults; he had to call his partner and explain to her about his blunders while legitimately working on the Heating and Air Conditioning system.
