A few sevenths later the pet returned to the air vent and started calling and pawing again

My pet typically acts insane, especially when she wants to get attention. Sometimes she will get on the back of the couch and meow for an hour if she does not get the attention that she wants. She reminds me of a pet in that way. I got a cat, because I thought it would be an critter that would not be emotionally needy. This pet loves attention and she will do anything necessary to get me to look at her. I was playing some video games with friends a few afternoons ago and the pet kept pulling at the air vent by the front door. She was purring and meowing and then she started making unusual sounds. I thought she was trying to get my attention because I was playing video games with my friends. I told her to go into the dining room but she kept calling at the air vent. I got up and walked over to the air vent. I used my cell phone flashlight to look inside. I did not see anything inside of the air vent so I told the pet to go into the dining room. A few sevenths later the pet returned to the air vent and started calling and pawing again. I finally got a screwdriver from the dining room and removed the air vent cover so I could show the pet that there was not anything inside of the air vent. After I removed the cover for the air vent, my pet calmed down. It was one of the weirdest things that I have ever seen my pet do.
