Dogs aren’t the easier animals to care for
I’ve always been a dog person, but they are not always the easiest animals to care for, both financially as well as physically.
It’s one thing when they are tiny puppies, but a 60 pound dog is no joke.
They eat a lot of food and are not as easy to contain as a dog a fraction of their size. Despite these factors, I would not trade my golden retrievers for anything. They’re lovely pets and are excellent with our children. When they were puppies, it was a lot easier to contain them and take care of them. I could take them both on walks together, but they started getting large fast. Before I knew it we had 2 fully grown dogs on my hands. I realized that taking care of these 2 golden retrievers wasn’t necessarily going to be as easy as I initially thought. After one of them nearly ran into the road in front of a car one afternoon, I realized that we needed to fence-in our yard so the pets couldn’t get close to the road. I thought about a wooden fence, but my wife recommended a chain affix fence for now because of the final cost. We called a fence company as soon as we could to get a quote on a brand new chain affix fence as well as were ecstatic to learn it wasn’t going to be nearly as expensive as a giant wooden fence. You have to put a stain as well as lacquer coating on a wooden fence as well. Additionally, she planned a landscaping project along with the chain affix fence so vines with flowers on them would grow into the wire mesh. Now we have a chain affix fence that is filled with leaves and flowers on ropey vines.
