If anybody would have told me to install an HVAC system just a few years ago, I don’t think I would’ve had the courage to do so. Just the idea of installing something so advanced when I had no knowledge of HVAC systems like that was entirely overwhelming. Of course, when I bought a home in the country more recently with my wife, things changed for me. I suddenly saw how I had this nice big home in the country, and there was a lot of work that needed to be done. One of the most important things I thought was having a good cooling system. We already had a nice boiler system that we tested out and had tuned up through a local HVAC contractor. There was no central cooling in our home though which bothered me to some degree. I kept wondering how we were going to make it through our first summer with no cooling system. The previous owners were using nothing but window AC units and one massive portable cooling unit. I considered asking them if I could buy the portable AC unit since it kept the place comfortable when we were checking out the home originally. But then I learned about ductless mini splits and spent a lot of time studying how to take care of such an installation. All of the studying paid off because soon enough, I was installing the new ductless mini split system I ordered with multiple ones. It was hard work for certain, but now I get to brag to all my family and friends about my accomplishment and we’re comfortable at home with low energy bills.
