I was pretty happy when I got a new smart thermostat, but when I asked my family for help, nobody wanted to lift a finger to assist me.

They all said it was cool that I got a new smart thermostat, but everybody said that I should just hire an HVAC professional to take care of the job.

I didn’t want to hire an HVAC expert for a job that should be so easy, but I was considering it for a moment. Fortunately, my buddy decided to call me up before I called the HVAC company. He asked me what was going on and I let him know that I was trying to figure out how to install this new thermostat. When he said that was a piece of cake, I asked him to come over to assist me. He didn’t have any issues and he even brought a 24 pack of beer to celebrate the installation of the thermostat once it was completed. He showed me all the different steps like taking a picture of the wires and labeling them all appropriately. It really was as simple as hooking up the wires to their designated locations in the new smart thermostat. He also said I was lucky because I had the C wire. He said he had to install the extra wire for his thermostat to power it up. He said the cool thing about these smart thermostats is that they don’t require batteries since they run off the main power. When the installation was finished, he showed me how to use the smart app on my phone to adjust the temperature control settings and other features. Then we started drinking and watched some UFC fights together.
