The report called for snow

My kids had not ever seen real snow until recently.

Both of us have lived down south for the past 10 years. All 4 of the children were born here and none of them have ever seen snow except on tv. When there were a couple of forecasted afternoons that were going to dip below 32 degrees overnight, it seemed like the perfect recipe for a few snow flurries. When the forecast started showing rain, I kept my fingers crossed for snow. I had needed to use the heat pump a lot more than normal because of the colder afternoons. The small heat pump worked harder during those frosty afternoons than it has in the past 5 years. The small heat pump entirely does a enjoyable task of heating our home and it is efficient to use as an HVAC during the warm season weeks too, and on the hour night of the record-breaking frost and ice rapidly decreased temperatures, the overnight low was 26. I woke up in the middle of the night to use the can and it was absolutely snowing. I thought about waking up the kids, but they were supposed to take the bus to school the next day. I took a couple of pictures and a video. I looked at the updated weather forecast and it was calling for another hour of precipitation. When the kids woke up early in the morning, there was a light dusting of snow on the ground. It only lasted for two hours, but there was a small amount of snow on the ground when the kids woke up in the morning for school. The kids acted like it was Christmas day all over again.
