I’m the sort of mother who knows just how lucky I am to have the family and the life that I enjoy.

Still, when you have three boys that are only 5 years apart, it can be a real challenge.

Soon, it will be time to once again have them home in the air conditioning for the summer. My husband is off to the zone controlled HVAC comfort of his office each day. I work part time but I’m able to do that from the air conditioning of home. Even though I’m not working full time, when I am working, it takes my full concentration and effort. So keeping the boys busy during the summer is a big deal. We’re still a year or two away from being able to put in that pool we’ve wanted. In our region, to beat the heat you need to be inside the HVAC cooling or submerged in water. Since we’re still a ways from having our own pool, I tend to drop the boys off at the community pool. There’s a group of moms who take turns so I usually have to stay once a week which isn’t too bad. But the fact remains that I have the boys pretty much the rest of the time and it’s all I can do just to keep them from tearing down the house. In fact, we had to replace the thermostat with a smart thermostat last summer due to the boys. I don’t know what thrown object did it but the old digital thermostat took a direct hit and shattered into a million pieces. So we now have an HVAC technology upgrade thanks to these wild kids of mine.
