It’s for sure weird coming home again.

The idea that you can’t go home again is a bit much but I agree that it’s quite different. So I’m back home now for awhile as I look to take care of my mom. At least I’ll be missing all the air conditioning costs that come with living down south where I’ve been since college. I just love that climate down there. And sure, we have to deal with a lot of heat during the summer but that’s just part of it. The rest of the year is just exceptional when it comes to weather and temperature. My mother just wouldn’t leave her home region to move down near me in all that HVAC cooling. And I can understand that. We should all be able to choose where we want to spend our final days. So I’ll be up here for maybe a year or so. I’ve rented my home down south and have moved to a rented condo to be near my mom. The condo has decent HVAC equipment but it appeared that there hadn’t been any HVAC maintenance done on it in a long time. So I called the HVAC company to make that appointment. The voice on the other end of the phone sounded familiar. Turns out the guy who owns the HVAC company was a buddy of mine when I was in highschool. He came out with the HVAC technician to say hello. It was really great to see him and we enjoyed a good hour of catching up with each other. If the rest of being at home goes this well, it may be a sad and challenging time but there is also some built in comfort to this spot as well.
