When my brother told me he had an important business seminar, he asked me if I would watch my niece and nephew.

My brother’s wife passed away about 5 years ago and it is the most heartbreaking thing ever. I give my brother a lot of credit because he has taken good care of his children regardless of the tough situation of losing his wife. He never even chose to date anybody after all these years, he just takes care of the youngsters and I have helped him out from time to time and I couldn’t see myself not helping him out this time either. Well, it had been a little while since I saw the youngsters so we got into some games like uno and pictionary. We had a good time and then the little ones were begging me to get a fire going in the fireplace so we could roast marshmallows. I probably should have just got a fire going in the fireplace outside. I didn’t realize that they would make such a huge mess in the house around the fireplace. They were hyped up and overactive I guess because they didn’t have to worry about my brother’s strict rules back at their home. They were running around the living room and they kept adjusting the thermostat for some reason like it was a game. I didn’t yell at them, but calmly asked them not to touch the thermostat. They also made a huge mess with the s’mores dropping melted chocolate everywhere and sticky roasted marshmallows all over the base of my fireplace. That was not fun cleaning up and I was actually glad when my brother came back early to take them back home.
