There are a few risks in becoming an HVAC service technician
Well, I discovered that because HVAC technicians work with wires, they can get electrocuted, and suffer from burns and cuts from the equipment.
My son Jake has always been into working with his hands. As a child he was always taking his toy trucks and cars apart and then putting the pieces back together. There were times when they worked and there were times when they didn’t work again. But he didn’t care because his only interest was that he was able to put them back together again. I always thought Jake would become some kind of engineer because he loved gadgets and loved to figure out what made his toys move. Well, to my surprise, when Jake was a junior in high school, he said he wanted to become an HVAC technician. I supported him in his decision because he would be doing something he loved, fixing equipment. I however was a bit concerned about the dangers of being an HVAC technician, so I did some research on the internet to find out. Well, I discovered that because HVAC technicians work with wires, they can get electrocuted, and suffer from burns and cuts from the equipment. They can also be exposed to Carbon Monoxide poisoning which at the time was a bit frightening for me. So, I made sure that Jake was fully aware of the risks of being an HVAC technician, and I made it clear to him that he should take the job seriously and always follow all the safety protocols. Anyway, it has been 10 years later, and Jake became a certified HVAC technician, and he’s doing a great job at what he loves. One day he plans on becoming an HVAC contractor and I am so proud of him.
