HVAC technicians can perform electrical work
A few weeks ago, while I was at home, I noticed that my air conditioner was not cooling even though I had my thermostat set to 74. The inside temperature was 82 degrees and that was quite warm for me. I turned off the unit to see if that would help to reset the thermostat, but it didn’t, so I decided to contact an HVAC provider to diagnose and fix the problem. I was able to get an appointment for the next day, which was quite amazing given that it was the beginning of the Summer. Well, when the HVAC technician arrived, I showed him where the condenser unit was and he got right to work. Well, after an hour, I went to check on him and he had the condenser unit pulled apart and there were quite a few exposed wires that were hanging out of the condenser. I was shocked to see the HVAC technician working with the electrical wires inside the unit. In my head, I thought only electricians would handle the wiring of an HVAC equipment, but I guess it makes more sense that the HVAC technician knows as well. Because if the problem was an electrical issue, the HVAC technician would be able to fix it. That had me thinking how dangerous it is to be a technician. Working with electrical wires in an HVAC system can’t be an easy task. Anyway, when he was done, he mentioned that I had an electrical problem that he was able to fix. By the time he left my house was feeling cool again.
