I’ve been married to an HVAC technician for a long time now. Jake and I have been together for almost twenty years, and most of the time we get along well. Jake started working at one of the local HVAC companies here in town shortly after we got married, and he’s been there ever since then. He’s one of their most popular HVAC technicians. People call the HVAC office and ask specifically for Jake to come and do their air conditioning repairs and their furnace tune ups. I always laugh when I hear about that, but Jake says that I don’t know how good I have it. I guess he’s right about that in a way. I mean, of course, we never have to pay to get our heating or cooling system updated or maintained. And if we ever have a problem with the furnace system or with the central air conditioning system, then Jake just fixes it. Plus, anytime I hear something about a new kind of HVAC advancement, we are the first ones in the neighborhood to get it. For instance, we now have a smart thermostat system that we can adjust from anywhere as long as we have our smartphones. We also have radiant heated flooring all throughout our entire house. Not only that, but we have the lowest heating and cooling bills of any of our neighbors. I guess being married to an HVAC technician really comes with a lot of perks. Even though I don’t always love the hours Jake has to work and the emergency HVAC calls he gets sometimes, I guess it’s worth it.
