I lost our job right at the start of the COVID pandemic. My boss wasn’t going out of business, however he saw the writing on the wall & released about half the staff with no warning! Since then it was pretty hard trying to find new work, so I have a lot of free time around the house. Through pure dumb luck — which at the time I thoughtr was awful luck — I ended up finding a much better job than I ever dreamed. It all started on a unquestionably hot morning when the a/c would not turn on. I don’t have a central system, I have a box-style cooling unit that is mounted in the window of our residing room. I looked around online, but at this point there were no Heating & Air Conditioning companies that were doing house calls, thanks to COVID. Instead ,I turned to Youtube, & spent more than two days falling down a rabbit hole of a/c problemshooting & repair videos. After a while I felt I had l earned enough, & I was tired of being hot & sticky all the time, so I cracked open the housing of the A/C & fixed it myself. I was lucky, because it ended up being a unquestionably quick & straight-forward fix, even for a rookie A/C repair guy. I started watching more & more videos, & after that I took the A/C apart again, just so I could put it back together, then currently I am enrolled in an online Heating & Air Conditioning certification program, & looking forward to starting a new work.
