My dad had a grand idea to open up a roadside hotel near the new amusement park they were building; Dad was never fantastic with business, & he had bad timing, so he built the entire hotel before the park was finished.

Then they pulled the plug on the park altogether, & all of us were stuck with a hotel in the middle of nowhere.

Every one of us sold the house & moved into the hotel, & I am still residing here today, with our own family. After some mild refurbishing, all of us are pushing the location online as an Air BnB destination. Most of the rooms needed a/c units, & that was a large expense so all of us had to do it a little at a time. Back when the location was new, but never going to open for business, our dad had sold off most of the Heating & Air Conditioning equipment & the electronics. Why have cable & A/C in every room at that point, he reasoned, so he sold them off piecemeal to recoup some of his losses, but now that all of us wanted to have some guests, those rooms needed to have cable & A/C once more. Every one of us started off with twelve rooms, & then I would fix the temperature control in more rooms as needed. Much to our surprise, those twelve rooms were booked solid for a month within a few days ,so all of us called the Heating & Air Conditioning corporation back up & asked for more work. It turns out that abandoned theme park has become a tourist destination because it is rumored to be haunted, so maybe dad was right after all.
