The desk clerk didn't tell me the AC was broken

I stayed in a hotel when I went to a business conference last March.

  • I wasn’t particularly excited about the business conference, because I missed spring training at the baseball field.

My friends and I go every spring but this year I had to work. The boss didn’t get plane tickets since it was only a four-hour drive. I had to take my own car. The gas was on my boss, but I still had to spend 4 hours driving there and 4 hours coming back. When I arrived at the hotel, the front desk clerk was a little rude and curt. There was no one in line behind me, but he seemed to be in a hurry to get me into a room. I was assigned to a room on the 10th floor of the building. I packed all of my bags onto a luggage Dolly and went to the room. Unfortunately, I quickly realized that the AC was not working. The machine was off and there was caution tape around the AC. I called the front desk and I told the guy that the room was unacceptable. I told him that there was caution tape around the AC unit. He told me to come downstairs for a different room. He was rude again, and I had every intention of giving him a piece of my mind. Fortunately for him, the manager was standing at the desk when I came back downstairs. She was very apologetic for the mix-up and even gave me a voucher so I could enjoy dinner at the hotel. The young guy who was at the front desk stood behind the woman and didn’t say a word.
