I couldn’t sleep at night with the cold air

Ever since I moved in with my boyfriend, I have been unable to get any sleep.

I love this man but he has some very challenging habits. He snores loudly and he likes the indoor temperature to be set at 60 degrees. At first he told me he would only turn down the thermostat after I have already fallen asleep so that it would not disturb me. The problem was, if his snoring doesn’t wake me up the cold does. The cold air gives me a sore throat and then the rest of the day I don’t feel too well. My boyfriend is a great guy, and he apologized because he didn’t want me to get sick or have restless nights. So we sat down to discuss what we should do. We agreed to purchase a two sided temperature controlled bed. This way he could have his cold side, and I could have my warm side. When it came to our normal central heating and cooling unit, we decided to meet in the middle by having it set to 76 degrees. This system worked out great for us and I have not had any problems falling asleep since we started. I fixed the snoring problem too, I went to bed with a small pair of ear plugs and I have slept like a baby since then. It has helped our energy bills too. By having the HVAC system set a room temperature instead of the cold temperatures we were using the air conditioning unit less and less and that saved us money.
