Wait, fibromyalgia does that?

Wait, fibromyalgia does that?

Several years ago I was talking to one of my best friends who is a working therapist and mental health practitioner.

She happened to casually mention that one of her clients was suffering from a made up disease known as fibromyalgia. At the time, I had briefly heard people mention this medical condition before but I had absolutely no idea what it meant. From the sound of my best friend’s tone, it was clear that fibromyalgia was not an actual condition to worry about. Until… 10 years later I found out that I absolutely have fibromyalgia. How? By realizing for the first time that my imbalanced temperature control system was a symptom of the unwanted disorder. For as long as I can remember, I have had an extremely tumultuous experience with temperature control. As in, my body is always at an uncomfortable temperature and I realized very heavily on Indoor air temperature control systems to manage my own comfort level. If it is hot out I am extremely overheated. If it is cold out I am freezing beyond belief. If there is a draft in the room I cannot concentrate on anything besides the unpleasant feeling of expensive treated indoor air passing over my skin. And I never noticed that this was an abnormal temperature control problem. That is, until somebody mentioned fibromyalgia being accompanied by a large set of temperature regulation problems. Apparently, your body is unable to properly regulate its normal process used to maintain a steady temperature for yourself. Now, thanks to the diagnosis, I finally understand my hot and cold fluctuations… And my extremely high energy bills.
