Busting the myth about air conditioning filter

Everyone wants to know they are breathing clean air especially in these times we are living in.

There is a wide range of systems that are used to clean our spaces, be it working or living spaces.

My friend and I were having a discussion on the best system used to clean that are efficient, effective, and affordable even for startup businesses. He had been overseeing some repairs on his ductwork. The HVAC duct had a blockage that had caused an airflow build which has caused the air duct to have a leak. Now the floor around the cooling system had small puddles of water. He had interned as a HVAC serviceman at the local business, but he later changed careers. He had even helped with the a/c setup of the house he was currently living in as well as the installation of a few commercial ACs before he quit. My friend was telling him how he just found out that an air conditioning filter was different from a washable filter when his air conditioning was undergoing an a/c tune-up. I told him that actually, the two were one and the same thing, the latter just specified that the cleaner can be washed. The device no matter which system it is fitted on is meant to clean out the pollutants in the air circulating in a particular space. I continued to advise that a quality air conditioner works efficiently when the cleaner is changed every 2-3 months. However I was not surprised at his assumption since two decades of being a cooling specialist, I had encountered multiple homeowners who thought the same way. One sign that an air sieve is dirty is when the wifi thermostat is not able to set the ideal temperatures.
