When you are going camping it is usually so that you can have fun and relax.

We like to take the kids at least three times each summer.

Our family does not own a camper and we simply set up tents each time we go. The problem with that is the fact that you can hear every little sound around you. This makes sleeping very difficult at times. Most of the campgrounds that we go to are set up for families with activities for the kids to do. This is great during the day, but if you have a little one that you are trying to get to sleep and the people in the next site are noisy, it is a real problem. I think that people in a large camper or RV don’t think of this because their rigs are insulated to buffer outside noises. I remember one camping trip last year where the camper next to us ran the air conditioners non stop. Each time the unit cycled on it sounded like a jet engine starting up. Again, during the day this was not an issue, however, when you are trying to sleep, it is very hard. I would wake up each time and hope that it wouldn’t wake the kids. I asked the owner of the camper if something was wrong with his HVAC system and he said it was working fine. He said that his camper was cool and comfortable. Well, let me tell you, it was not fine. We were thrilled when it came time to pack up and head home where we could get a decent night’s sleep again.
