Thinking about going for a ductless mini split
Thinking about going for a ductless mini split
Did you know that, on average, 30% of your Heating, Ventilation & A/C utility bills are lost through the ductwork system? I honestly didn’t know that until recently.
The people I was with and I were getting our Heating, Ventilation & A/C device maintained & the Heating, Ventilation & A/C contractor told us that we easily needed to get our ductwork sealed.
They explained that there were gaps in our ductwork & that the bunch of us were losing a lot of our heated & cooled air that way. The people I was with and I went ahead & had them take care of a ductwork sealing! I’m going to wait & see if our utility bills go down at all in the next few weeks… However, while researching the issue, I came across these things called ductless mini split systems! Essentially, it’s a heating & cooling device that does not use HVAC ducts. Instead, it works sort of like a window a/c unit. The outdoor component looks similar to the one that central a/c uses, however it uses pipes that go directly into an indoor dispenser. You can have several indoor dispensers, throughout the household, but no duct work is involved. It’s a little bit complex but I’m seriously thinking about getting one for our household. That’s because the Heating, Ventilation & A/C contractor also mentioned that our Heating, Ventilation & A/C device is getting a bit aged & the bunch of us might want to start thinking about getting an up-to-date one. I’m thinking about going a different direction entirely. I’m going to call up our Heating, Ventilation & A/C contractor & see if they install ductless mini-split systems & get a price quote for a household. I just wish I would’ve done this before I paid for them to seal our ductwork system.
