I rent a room downtown.

I sincerely can’t afford to rent a property myself so I just have a single one of the rooms in a 3 bedroom apartment.

The owner of the place has been acting especially silly though. She honestly refuses to run the cooling equipment. She is terrified of covid-19 and she managed to learn that cooling systems are able to spread the virus through the HVAC duct. I told her that the people I was with and I could get a very powerful air filter to deal with this however she will not listen. I am positive she would just kick me and the other renter out if she was able to afford to do so. She’s really scared that one of us is going to bring the virus back to the apartment. She even wears a mask inside regularly and she’s constantly wiping down the entire apartment. I do not actually know where she’s getting these disinfectant wipes from. I have not been able to find any for a long while now. This thing with the cooling equipment is really getting out of hand. It’s been 90 degrees for a number of weeks now and still she refuses to let us turn the cooling equipment on. Instead, every window in the apartment remains open and the fans are running all the time. I’m thinking about getting a window A/C device for my bedroom even though I do not want the apartment owner to get upset about it. I’m not sure that she would though! After all, I do not see how a window A/C device could really hurt anything. It would only cool air in my bedroom, not throughout the whole apartment. So any virus I might have would likely remain in my room only.
