I rent a room downtown.

I honestly can’t afford to rent an apartment myself so I just have one of the rooms in a 3-bedroom apartment.

The owner of the apartment has been rather absurd lately though. She entirely refuses to run the cooling device. She is terrified of covid-19 and she found out that cooling devices can spread the virus through the ductwork. I basically told her that all of us could get an absolutely strong air filter to combat this even though she will not hear it. I am certain she would just kick me and the other occupant out if she was able to afford to do so. She’s terrified one of us is going to bring the virus home. She even wears a mask inside at all times and she has been constantly wiping down the entire place. I don’t really know where she is getting these disinfectant wipes from. I have not been able to find any for numerous months now, however this thing with the cooling system is getting a little bit out of hand. It’s been 90 degrees for numerous weeks now and still she refuses to let us turn the cooling device on. Instead, every window in the place is open and the fans are working non-stop. I am thinking about getting a window a/c device for my room despite the fact that I do not want the apartment owner to get mad. I am not sure that she would though. After all, I do not see how a window A/C device could hurt anything. It would only cool air in my room, not throughout the whole apartment. So any virus I might have would still be confined to my room only.
