Fireplace keeps us warm when furnace goes out
Every one of us were lucky that the people I was with and I had a fireplace to fall back on because some people had to go to hotels or buy various space heaters
I never absolutely planned on using the fireplace when the people I was with and I purchased this outdated house, i thought it added a nice touch to the home though & the people I was with and I did end up using it once or twice a year, but there is something about a fireplace at Christmas that ads a nice touch, but however, it is kind of a pain to stock a lot of firewood… Besides, know that burning wood adds a lot to our carbon footprint so the people I was with and I usually just use the furnace & leave the fireplace alone. Yes, I know the furnace also leave a carbon footprint but it can be minimalized. However, Last yearI didn’t care much about carbon footprints when the furnace went out. I called a furnace repair supplier but they could not come out for 2 afternoons. Thankfully, the people I was with and I had a little bit of firewood left over so I started the fireplace up. I had our doubts that the fireplace was strong enough to overheated the entire house, every one of us had never asked it to do that before. However, it honestly did a fairly relaxing job keeping us warm. True, the heat was a bit uneven, & the people I was with and I had to get up at night to add more firewood, but at least the people I was with and I didn’t freeze & the pipes didn’t break. When the furnace repair supplier finally arrived they explained that various other peoples’ gas furnaces had also gone out unexpectedly. Every one of us were lucky that the people I was with and I had a fireplace to fall back on because some people had to go to hotels or buy various space heaters. They were also able to get our furnace up & running that afternoon.
